Tucuma Butter - Ultra Refined (INCI = Astrocaryum Tucuma Seed Butter) Native to the Brazilian Amazon, the delicious, edible fruit of the Tucuma palm tree is the source of our Tucuma Ultra Refined Butter, which is cold pressed from its seeds. Common Uses: Having very similar properties to those of Murumuru Butter, this is unusually rich in lauric, myristic and oleic acids, and is considered to have excellent emollient and skin softening properties. High in vitamin A, the antioxidant properties of our Tucuma Butter lengthens its shelf life naturally. Tucuma Ultra Refined Butter is quite hard at room temperature but it melts immediately on contact with the skin, making it ideal as a massage butter or body balm. This exotic light-coloured butter has a gloss that imparts a natural shine to the hair, even dry and damaged hair, and its lubricity helps to keep the skin soft, smooth and nourished. Its addition to soaps, creams, lotions, body butters, conditioners, masks and more gives a wonderful emollient quality. Important Note: This butter cold-processed, refined and has very mild scent to it. Recommended Usage: Lotions & Creams: 2 - 20 % Balms: 5 – 100 % Bar Soaps: 3 - 12 % Hair Conditioners: 1 – 5 % Masks: 5 – 10 %

3.5 stars. This is a fine grained butter that goes on thick and is stiff. A great butter for sealing hair after moisturizing. This is not a feeding butter. Many butters break down into oil which can often penetrate the skin. This is NOT one of those. The consistency is heavy..almost waxy.I applied some to my arm and it went on heavy and now my arm is sticky.I will use this butter as a top coat.First cleanse skin and leave skin wet.Apply a FEEDER oil such as Mowrah butter, coconut oil, mango oil or refined shea butter..then apply this tacuma butter.let this butter sink in.RUB..RUB..RUB. try to keep your skin warm to help it absorb. This butter can also be blended in with other oils and butters to provide more body to a product. If your skin is dry and cracked..i would use a more penetrative butter or oil..then apply this one and cover the skin.Every butter has its use. The tricks are finding the best for YOUR NEEDS , then creating a way to use it for optimal results.I use this ingredient to make an organic lotion balm. When used in the recipe it makes a terrific product. I will be contacting the distributor to get a discount! This tucuma butter is a small amount I wish it could come in a larger amount for a decent price.. but I can see why it's pricey it's really good stuff. So I still would have to give it a ?I like that the 8 ounce butter pictured came instead in 2 four ounce containers and not the one pictured. One of the butters had brown specks in it.Love your products.Smells, looks and feels like hard vasoline. This is not real tucuma butter. I'm waiting for seller to approve my return request.
