Premium 100g Pure Whole Dried Kashmiri Chillies - Mild & Aromatic Red Chili Peppers for Indian Cooking, Curry, BBQ & Spice Blends

I bought some kashmiri chili powder a few weeks ago and liked it a lot so I decided to order some of the dried peppers. I have a couple recipes I plan to try out and maybe make a kashmiri pepper sauce. The peppers took forever to arrive and then I learned why: They were shipped directly from India. They must be the real thing. Getting it from India is pretty cool. The price was great: $5.20 for a decent-sized bag. I was a little confused. My order cost $5 and postal cost (as best I can figure) was $6.60. Who knows? Anyway, I am looking forward to experimenting with a new, exotic ingredient. I am happy with my purchase.I ordered these from Amazon because my local Indian grocery store does not carry them. I buy other dried red chilis at the Indian store but for some reason they do not carry the Kashmiri. I wanted these because I had a few recipes that called for these particular chilis, but so far I have only used them in a recipe that also called for the other chilis that I buy locally, so I have not yet used these where they were the only chili being used So I can not yet fully evaluate their taste quality. They smelled good as I was dry toasting them and they did seem to add some extra color to the dish. I feel comfortable with four stars because I think I like them, and am happy to have found them, but I cannot evaluate well enough to give five stars. After I have used them a few more times I will update the review.I only ordered these pepper so that I can get the seeds to try and plant and grow the fresh peppers, and out of a hundred seeds planted only two germinated so I think is probably due to a radiation or something before they're imported...When arriving home and checking my mail box, I could smell these peppers the moment I opened the lid to the box. Wonderful to start a curry, and wonderful to put on most anything after grinding them up to a powder. about the same in heat as a domestic cayenne. Flavor is totally dirrerent thos. Very good product!Very aromatic. Seems fresh. Arrived pretty quick, but be patient, as it is being shipped from India. I recommend them.These are more rust-brown in color and MUCH hotter than others I have had. I don't think these are the same variety Kashmiri chillies I'm used to.I live in an area where spices are difficult to find. I decided to get this online and it made all the difference in the recipe - my new favorite pepper :)Too hot for me gave them to my neighbor she loves them
